Greeting and Happy Holidays from all of us at Fallen Dominion Studios!

We wanted to post a brief update with the latest information about the remaining Kickstarter Orders.  As most of you are aware, the copies of the Game left the port of Halifax Canada a few weeks ago to begin its Journey across the Atlantic to Liverpool.  They are set to arrive in the UK on the 16th!  Our Partners at Gamesquest are known for their expeditious and professional handling of games and we're confident that it should clear customs quickly.  We will have more information very soon, but wanted to assure all of you great folks that the wheels are turning quicker and quicker and that it shouldn't be long now.  We'll have more information to post as it becomes available.

As always, thank you for your continued patience, patronage and support.  This game wouldn't have been possible without all of you great folks out there who supported and believed in us.  You all remain our number one priority.

Work continues on the new website.  It is getting very, very close and will be replacing our current official website at www.fallendominionstudios.com, soon.  It features about four times the content and a slew of fun new features as well.

Fallen Land: A Post-Apocalyptic Board Game and its first expansion, A Journey Into Dakness continue to receive high ratings and great coverage within the gaming community.  Recently it received Game Of The Year 2017 by David Taylor of To The Table Gaming With family And Friends https://tothetablereviews.wordpress.com/2017/12/10/game-review-fallen-land-a-post-apocalyptic-board-game-from-fallen-dominion-studios/

In addition, Robert Oren, one of the all time greats, gave it the number three spot for 2017's Hidden Gems and put it in his Top Fifty Games Of All Time (8:40 in the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojI219Cu8w4

And The Solo Play has been getting some fun coverage too https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1895279/fallen-land-solo-gem

Once again, hang in there folks.  It is getting very close.  We will, as always, continue to post information as it becomes available to us, as we have done throughout the campaign.

Happy Holidays!

Cheers!

Final Kickstarter Copies Arrival Iowa City
over 6 years ago – Sun, Nov 12, 2017 at 07:15:50 AM

Greetings from Iowa City!  We apologize for the delayed update.  We meant to have this out to you great folks on Thursday and it's been a zoo since then.

The Canadian and South American orders went out about a week and a half ago.  The Canadian backers copies are in Toronto.  As we sent them boxed up and ready to go, it is just a matter of slapping on some labels and should be leaving Snakes and Lattes heading out to you folks on Monday or Tuesday.  At your doorstep very soon after that.

All Other International Orders have FINALLY arrived here in Iowa City as of late Thursday.  They have been slowly trickling in and we have been waiting for the last of the Kickstarter copies to arrive.  Thursday the last of them arrived and Amazon dragged their feet and we were gritting our teeth.  I know this has been a longer process than we intended and know that we are sorry.  The game is worth the wait. As a small business dealing with third parties, we have learned the hard way this can be a very frustrating process.  This category is comprised of ALL remaining backers, including Australia,

Now, we are just waiting for the green light email with our tracking numbers from our partners in the UK, Gamequest.  We predict it to be here late tonight, or Monday.  That will have our carrier information etc...  We are predicting quick pick up and turn around as it heads off to the port in the East Coast, where it will then board a boat to the UK 14-16 days and be distributed by Gamequest, from there with a 2-6 day turnaround to be shipped out from there to all remaining backers.

The awesome reviews keep rolling in.  The latest one is from the prestigious Robert Oren, a 40 year veterans of the of the gaming industry and a titan among reviewers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79e1iM3DR_c&list=PLOGq3t1x_PlMOtSLYZSnvG7XImu7Ca_Cv

Many more reviews are on the way, about twelve or so in fact, both from here in the US and abroad.  We are looking forward to it and It has been exciting seeing all of the people from all walks of life enjoying our game.  In fact, the oldest gamer to our knowledge so far (at 82), just ordered a copy for their family Christmas get together. :)

We will post another update as soon as the Kickstarter copies leave the studio here in a few days with more details for the remaining backer.

Again, we apologize for the delay.  Progress has been moving forward each and every day.  But now the ball is rolling down hill and picking up speed very quickly.  Hang in there folks.  We got what you need--Fallen Land: A Post-Apocalyptic Board Game and its first expansion, A Journey Into Darkness.  By design, we crafted this game meticulously over the course of thirteen years.  And by all accounts so far, from both players and reviewers, we hit that mark.  Our goal after all, is a game that can withstand the tests of time.  A game, that you will still be playing years from now and continuing to have a unique and new experience, each and every time.

As always, thank you for you patience, patronage and support.

International Shipping Update
over 6 years ago – Fri, Oct 20, 2017 at 10:23:33 PM

Hello everyone,

As always, we appreciate your patience, patronage and support!  As everyone is aware, this is our first Kickstarter campaign and we are still learning the ropes when it comes to international shipping.  This is a lesson all Kickstarter Creators learn by doing and experiencing it.  We are posting Kickstarter updates as the information becomes available.  We will continue to keep everyone appraised of the situation, as we have done throughout this campaign.

We are still working the 80 hour work weeks.  We have shelved all other distractions and projects for the studio, including the complete overhaul of the official Fallen Dominion Studios website etc... until this International Shipping matter has been 100% resolved.

Again, nothing is more important to us than our backers and you folks who have all been patiently awaiting your copies of the game.  As we have stated several times, we promise the game is worth the wait and you're going to enjoy it.  So far we have had phenomenal reviews, coverage and feedback of our game and are even rated 8.8 on Board Game Geek!

Our Kickstarter and other backers are all VERY important to us and you folks are our number one priority.  Since the US Backers order went out, we have been diligent in our communications with Amazon.com.  We have made phone calls at least once per a week and spoke with them to make sure everything was on track.  Sometimes, we have made multiple phone calls in one week.  We have been waiting to be approved for International shipping by Amazon.  As a small business, we are obviously reliant upon a third party (Amazon) to distribute our products and we are still learning the ins and outs of this.  Rest assured there is progress being made on all shipping fronts, daily.  We also continue to move forward to get these games out to you quickly.

The Latest News

Early yesterday morning we received notice that our Retail Versions of the game were FINALLY approved for international shipping.  However, we were frustrated to learn that Amazon DID NOT approve the Kickstarter Version of Fallen Land for International Shipping.  We are very sorry.  Their explanation to us was, that this is because the Kickstarter Version of the game IS NOT for sale on Amazon.  As you may recall, our initial plan was to have Amazon them fulfill all International Orders.  The Kickstarter Version of the game is what they call a "Multi Channel Fulfillment."  Again, this means that the Kickstarter Version of the game was sold through a third party (Kickstarter, Indiegogo and Backerkit) and NOT by Amazon.  Our whole shipment of the games went to Amazon's distribution center in Joliet, Illinois.

Therefore, we have both good and bad news.  Upon notification yesterday, we IMMEDIATELY placed a rush removal order for ALL Kickstarter Versions of the game.  This means they will expedite the shipping to us, directly to the studio here in Iowa City, Iowa.  These Kickstarter Versions will be coming in staggered over the next week or two.  So, what does this mean for all of you?

Canadian Backers and South American orders.

These are coming in over the weekend, on Saturday, October 21st.  We will be shipping these out ourselves from Iowa City.  These orders will be the first batch of international orders to be going out.  These orders will be shipped out Monday October 23rd, but no later than Tuesday the 24th.  From there we are predicting less than a week to arrive to your doorsteps, but cannot specifically give that date, other than it will be very soon.

All Other International Orders

Your copies will be coming in over the next two weeks, hopefully sooner, starting Tuesday, October 24th.  We have already contacted a distributor in the UK Gamesquest (a prominent and well known game distributor) and are already making the arrangements to ship all remaining International Orders of the Kickstarter Versions to them, once we receive them from Amazon.  Once we have them all, they will be shipped out immediately to the UK.

Below is our plan to resolve this minor delay to All Other International Orders in a quick and efficient manner in five steps.  You are all our number one priority.  Again, we appreciate your patience and we promise our game is worth the wait and we are truly sorry for this unexpected delay.  You can count on us.

OUR RESOLUTION AND PROMISE TO YOU

1).  We are waiting for delivery of the Kickstarter Versions of the game here at the studio in Iowa City, just a few hours from Joliet, Illinois (the location of the Amazon distribution center).  Once they arrive, they will be shipped out within two or three days on a pallet via semi truck.

2).  From there, within 2-3 days they will arrive to the East Coast here in the United States.

3).  From there, they will be loaded on a boat bound for the UK and be delivered to Gamequest.  We are predicting 2 weeks right now to arrive in the UK after being loaded on the boat.  We are looking into several options for this.

4).  Upon arrival at Gamesquest the remaining International Orders of the Kickstarter Version will be shipping out from there within 6-10 days, to all remaining backers.  This is the quickest way to resolve this issue.  Since there are many countries involved it is not possible to give a specific date of arrival, but it we have received several assurances this will be timely and efficient.  Period.  We will continue to post updates as the information becomes available.

5).  Staggered arrival to your doorstep, quickly and efficiently.

Other News

We apologize for this next bit of news, but we thought you should hear it from us directly.  It was certainly NOT our intention to have the Retail Versions of the game become available through Amazon internationally before the Kickstarter Versions had shipped.  The Kickstarter Versions were supposed to be approved for International Orders weeks ago.  We also predicted them to be already on their way via Amazon.  Unfortunately, everything happened all at once, and we're truly sorry about that.  It was beyond our control as Amazon was handling this much sooner.  Again, it was not our plan to have the Retail Orders become available worldwide, which was a shock and unexpected news to us.  This is not something we can undo.  In the future, our products bound for International Orders will be shipped directly with our new partners at Gamequest, so that this does not happen again.  Period.  We have learned a valuable lesson.

As a side note:

People have been asking what is the difference between the both the Kickstarter Version (including all stretch goals) and the Retail Version?  Well, both versions have identical boxes, the only difference being the UPC and EAN numbers and the stretch goal content inside.  The KS version is 6.75 lbs and the Retail version is 5.75 lbs.

Please continue your patience with us.  We have a solid plan, which will be executed efficiently.  The game is worth the wait and we hope you will hang on just a little longer.  thanks,

Humbly,

~Sean and Jon

International Shipping Coming Soon
over 6 years ago – Mon, Oct 02, 2017 at 12:56:45 AM

Hello everyone,

We wanted to get a quick update to all of our international backers.  We are currently waiting on Amazon.com to approve the game for international shipping.  This only occurs once per month, according to them.  We called them directly to discuss this matter and we were assured that it will be soon.  Once this has been approved, we will immediately ship those out to all international backers, no matter where or when you ordered the copies of Fallen Land: A Post-Apocalyptic Board Game and its first expansion, A Journey Into Darkness.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.  We will still be EU and Canada friendly and Amazon.com will be charging us (not you) for the VATS.

Hopefully it won't be long now.  We are checking in with them daily and our shipping list is all ready to go and we are just waiting on them at this point.

We can't wait for you to play the game and we know you're going to love it.  On a positive note, we continue to have great reviews coming in and we are having tons of awesome feedback from the US backers playing the game.  We knew we would, but it is still fun and makes us feel pretty great to see everyone enjoying themselves, posting pics etc...

Cheers,

~Jon and Sean
